Description
This full earth image was captured by a NASA weather satellite almost one million miles from Earth on May 18, 2021. A blocking high pressure area cleared out the clouds over the Great Lakes presenting a rare opportunity to view the lakes from space. The Great Lakes are the largest group of fresh water lakes on planet Earth. The image has also been digitally enhanced and colorized to present the best view of the lakes.
